Verdun. "The Practical Australian Gardener" by Peter Cundall. Penguin Books 1989. He may have done a later edition, but that's the one I use. It's brilliant. Just flicking through it now, I admit to getting glimpses of marker pen very often. Naughty, but makes things quicker when trying to track down some info.
Those cosmos are really something Pat. I grow a short variety now which doesn't suffer as much wind damage as the larger ones but none were ever that large.
The sun has just started to make an appearance so I've had to protect the windowsill seedlings from scorch damage. I used to do machine embroidery and have lots of backing fabric left which is ideal for protecting them.
Hope everyone enjoys their Sunday and manages a wee while in the garden
Lovely walking round the garden, coffee in hand, seeing new life appear, from empty spaces, and listening to the twitter of the birds. Quite a few Bees about as well.
Suppose I should get on and do something, rather than just wander.
Have a lovely day.
How can you lie there and think of England When you don't even know who's in the team
Hi Fairy. Loved your pics yesterday - stonking. I've just been on the 'phone to them and they're doing well. Dad has had enough of the zimmer so got my cousin to put it in the attic and can't wait to be done with the crutches so that he just needs a stick. Another cousin is going this afternoon to paint the three new fence panels. They are being watched.

KEF, thanks, but I can't recommend letting them take over a vegetable bed, though.
