lovely memories wonky and Dove, don't you just wish sometimes you could change the clock back for a week, your garden is like my parents garden with fields at the back, me and my brother used to play for hours out there, happy memories
Dove; my mum would "give" me an area of garden as my own which I would duly dig out, drag compost from the bins, really work hard to rid the area of the awful clay.
Come home with big plans of strawberries and... find mum had planted in it but so kindly let me have another area of the garden.
She must have thought me dafter than I looked
Last year my resolution was to label everything. This year I should resolve to label with USEFUL information. When I gift a plant to a friend they get a beautiful label with local & Latin names, care instructions... what do I put on my plants? Well I just shook out three bulbs from a pot called "orange - granddad".
I think I must have been hard on my children when they were young, if they didn't do anything, they didn't get anything.
if the washing wasn't in the bin it didn't get washed, if they didn't clean their rooms, they lived in the mess, their clean clothes were placed on their beds, if they chose to put it on the floor and not in the drawers, they wore it creased up.
if they used all the mugs without washing any, they either had to wash them or use a dirty one. Oh, I was cruel.
two beautiful people now though, and both encourage their own off spring to do jobs in the house.
its the 12 year olds duty to empty the dish washer and put it all away before he goes to school, it just comes naturally to him now, he never questions it.
Gardening on the wild, windy west side of Dartmoor.
So was Possum. No tantrums at any stage until just recently. Bit of a shock to the aging parents and hard to deal with especially as we know that hiding in there somewhere is a delight.
Ceiling done, masking tape done on skirting boards and doors ready for walls. Window embrasure painted too.
Spot of lunch and then off to the GC for a pot for a Chrystal Fountain clematis I need to rescue and nurture as it doesn't seem to thrive in its current position. Just a few metres along from an exuberant Arabella in the same bed and soil.
Vendée - 20kms from Atlantic coast.

Obelixx - the real Possum will re-emerge - take no notice of her behaviour, continue to treat her as the lovely person she really is and it will happen ..... eventually

Hound walked in a very bitter breeze. Now putting off doing the shopping trip I've been putting off all week.
I will concede that Wonky was an adorable child
Wonky's first garden (all her own work
)
and it just doesn't get more adorable than that does it?
And yes, I did get her permission to post them
