Good morning all image  G'day Pat image

Yvie image  When we were buying this place we had a full survey and got a builder in to go over the place with a fine toothed comb too before we made an offer.  And even then some things were missed - like a problem with the drains (now fixed) .  The surveyor even said that there's a gas fire in the sitting room ... it's electric imageimage  But at least he said it in writing.

Have your daughter and her OH tried taking this up with the surveyor's regulartory association?  It's worth a try.

There's a frost on the grass this morning and it was quite misty a little earlier, but the sun is out now and the mist is lifting - the goldfinches are on the feeders and the woodpigeons are cooing on the roof.  I think I might get some gardening done.

Hazel, re the knitting - it's the ribbed neckband I've been struggling with - getting the the vee-shaped welt right as the pattern instructions are minimal.  Got it sorted now and just the ribbed bands around the armholes to do image

Good morning Dove and those to come, hI Pat,

A starling on the roof woke me this morning by pretending to be a car alarmimage.  They are great mimics.

Yvie hope you manage to catch up on some sleep and the aches and pains ease.  Could you set up a kettle somewhere away from the conservatory?

I've just got to finish loading the car up and then hit the motorway.

    Have a good day everyoneimage.

Morning Flumpy image  milk and sugar on the table image

I put some ground feed out on a log for the birds - there are two male blackbirds desperate to get the food and trying very hard to pretend the other isn't there.  It's so funny to watch them image  One is nesting in the garden over the fence and I think the other has come from the conifers in the garden opposite our front garden.

Morning all. Blue sky. Friends coming to lunch after church. Forecast this week is good. Must sow some more seeds and finish the pruning.

We had our cottage in Norfolk surveyed and we had a long written report. The Solicitor wouldn't let us complete until the seller had sorted and repaired a couple of things that the surveyor had noted. There was damp in a wall and it had to be dealt with by a damp expert and we had to visit the house again to approve it before the solicitor was happy.

Dordogne and Norfolk. Clay in Dordogne, sandy in Norfolk.
