I think I wouldn't have got on with my parents had I been living with them at 21 Obelixx. Its all about asserting your opinion and identity at that age and living under someone else's rules wouldn't have worked for me! Its in our nature to fight against authority! Even if the authority is right, we insist on learning from our own mistakes and defending them until we are blue in the face. If its any consolation you can look forward to her telling you in the future that you were right about everything!
Gloomy day here too Fairy I have to go into town, not something I relish! may have a wander round the charity shops for some books to make it a bit more pleasant. Hope you keep warm Fairy, maybe it should be a duvet day with a movie and what I call a carpet picnic....tubs full of deli goodies and crackers!
Rubbish weather here - as much as I sometimes raise my eyebrows ar fair weather gardeners, even I'm not going out in that.
Maybe a trip into town later, and some seed sowing on the kitchen table.
Still, yesterday was unexpectedly gorgeously sunny - so maybe 1/4 for a bank holiday weekend is what we will have to settle for. And that smiley reminds me that my came out for the first time in 2016 yesterday
West Central Scotland flumpy. Dismal pretty much everywhere up here today. Can't complain really - we had some glorious weather in the last few weeks and I had some great hill outings
I should really do housework Wonks - girls are away all weekend so just have myself to please. I'm currently catching up on stuff I've recorded so you're not far off the mark
It's a place where beautiful isn't enough of a word....
I live in west central Scotland - not where that photo is...
My relatives live in Langholme but sadly my Grandparents have passed away now I miss them dearly, we used to drive up twice a year and my Grandad always used to take us up into the hills or visit different villages, everybody is sooo friendly too now I have two cousins in Langholme as the rest of my family are all over England now
Wonky - she's a student at Namur, just 20kms away. She lived out for her second year and it was a disaster so she's back home again and actually working hard and passing her exams now. She has her driving licence and a car so is independent in that sense. I would just like some good manners, an occasional smile and a willing hand to set the table and empty the dishwasher.
5 minutes a day is too much to ask?
I do know not to expect her to do any gardening or plant related things.
Vendée - 20kms from Atlantic coast.
"The price good men (and women) pay for indifference to public affairs is to be ruled by evil men (and women)."
Obelixx, it sounds like she has achieved a lot her exams are her foundation for her start in the adult world so great that she is focused. I agree, a smile, some help, a little appreciation and manners would be nice too but just remember, we all turn into our parents eventually!
Kef, I might have a few strands missing at the back lol. But thankfully I've very thick hair so it won't be missed
We were very lucky with our two boys, no terrible 2s here either. And the teenage years went by quite smoothly too. They've grown up kind strong men. We are lucky that we are a very close family. They are there to help when it's needed and like all mum and dads we are there for them too. Can remember stories of some of our friends teenagers and we know how lucky we were .......phew
I'll join you with the knitting Dove, really must get a wriggle on with this one!

I have to say neither of my daughters had " teen issues" One of them dyed her hair some weirdish colours, but no tantrums ( not even "terrible 2s" )
Bless'em both.
