Hello folks- I'm back Ma happily introducing me to everyone as her sister, talking about 'our' father who has died and her mother who she hasn't seen for a long while, and her husband (meaning Bro) who works so hard. I took her a basket of trailing campanulas for her room and a box of chocs for Mother's Day - she thanked the carer for them
After the visit I popped down to the harbour and bought 3+lb of fresh line-caught cod (caught last night) for £10 - we'll have some for supper, the rest is in the freezer.
The journey home took longer than usual as we were stuck in a long queue then diverted due to a bad crash at Hales - a car and a lorry - there's a service station and a junction on a bend on the brow of a hill on a fast bit of road - presumably someone didn't see that another vehicle was turning off. Four people injured but according to the local news website I don't think anyone was killed. There were several ambulances and fire engines as well as the Norfolk air ambulance which had landed in a field - I couldn't see whether it was Prince William in the cockpit.
The sun was shining at Southwold, but the last part of the journey home was in heavy sleet.
Just looked at the local EDP news website again - don't think the injuries are too bad thank goodness
"... Two people have minor injuries, and two will be taken to hospital for further treatment. One has a suspected broken arm while the other is complaining of back pain...."
I often stop at that petrol station for fuel on my way to visit Ma, but when I do that I'm pulling in on my side of the road - I don't hover in the middle of the road on the brow of the hill to turn right

glad you able to see the humour with your mum, must be very difficult. I really don't know which is worse, be alert but physically failing or to live in a different world. As long as it's a contented end to life I dont suppose it matters.
Life is fragile as you found on the way home, some families have had bad news tonight . We had a fatality on our local road yesterday.
On that happy note! What's everyone having for supper?
Weeds are flowers, too, once you get to know them.” A A Milne
We thought everyone else should have some snow LP... I thought you'd get a bit. Seems to have been mainly Highlands ( Glenshee etc), north of England and down the east side, and Ireland. It missed us here apart from a little this morning. Bitterly cold wind here though
I hate seeing emergency services when I'm out and about. It's a common sight these days though
It's a place where beautiful isn't enough of a word....
I live in west central Scotland - not where that photo is...

fingers crossed for those involved in the accident.
I hate passing such scenes. Makes one aware of one's own mortality and how easily it could have been "us" in there.
Gosh , that was a bit "deep" for me.
I always feel the herons get a bad name, they have to survive too.
