Sweet peas sown. Winston Churchill is in a tray with Miss Wilmott. Sue Pollard in with pandemonium. All the blues together.

Then I pricked out 80 or so aquilegias. My trilliums are coming up. The banana seems to have survived Ok, its sending up a new leaf.

Chicky  My sweet pea sowing has been brought to a halt as I've used every toilet/kitchen/wrapping paper tube I can lay my hands on. How many have you planted?

I put mine in roottrainers. I didnt like the way the loo rolls went mouldy.

The mould was a bit offputting the first time I did it Fidget - but it doesn't seem to harm themimage. I've become immune to itimage

Haven't found root trainers for sale in France. Must look on line. Last year my loo rolls completely disintegrated so I've put them in flower pots, 3 to a pot. Uses more compost and I will have to dig bigger holes. I'm trying dwarf one too for the first time.

Dordogne and Norfolk. Clay in Dordogne, sandy in Norfolk.

Have just had a look on line, can only find English ones. I don't think I've ever seen sweet peas growing here, except in my garden and I can't keep them past July, too hot.

Evening everyone. I just love Flumpy's little dog. Very cuddly.

ive been outside picking strawberries and raspberries this morning and have them cooking up for jam now. It's a slow boring job, but worth it when the jam is on the morning toast.

we've actually got temps today below 30c,  so you never know, Autumn may have really arrived at last. We have been getting a shower every evening and while not much, it's lovely to take the pressure off having to move hoses every day. On the weather channel, they showed video of flooding at Coober Pedy - for those of you who don't know, it's in the north of South Australia, very, very arid and where most of the best opals are dug up. People dig way down into tunnels to get them, and some people even live in some Caves.

it sounds as though you have all had a lovely gardening weekend. I planted some of my saved Broccolini seeds in small pots (about 3") on 6th and they were poking their heads up on 10th. I must admit I was rather chuffed at my success in collecting those particular seeds, because you can't buy them any more. PVR problems.

better lets you all get some sleep now.  image

Good morning all image  G'day Pat image

Chilly here at the moment - down to 1.3C overnight and not much higher now - but the forecast is for dry and sunny so fingers are crossed.

    Coffee needed .....

Good morning Dove. I wondered if you'd be first on. Believe it out, Ive had to close the front door because the breeze is very cold - especially compared with the heat wave we've been experiencing.image
