It is isn't it Verdun image  I might take a little trip to the GC and pick up some tomato seeds ... it's that sort of day image

Gardening in Central Norfolk on improved gritty moraine over chalk ... free-draining.

  • Good morning, misty here at the moment but sun forecast later, shame I am teaching all day. image Nice to see sun though. image

Hope you are all ok there Pat.

Have a good day all, hope you manage to get out in the gardens if the sun is shining. image

    Morning all/afties Pat.

Nice to see you DD - hope things are improving for you  image

Minus four earlier and a hard frost, but sun's coming through. Pity I'm at work so won't get the benefit.

T'bird - re the tissues I do the same on a frequent basis   image

Hope everyone who has lost friends recently will have a better day with no bad news. These events can bring us up sharply and make us realise how fortunate we are most of the time.

Better go and scrape the car and get ready. See you all later image

It's a place where beautiful isn't enough of a word....

I live in west central Scotland - not where that photo is...

    Hello all image

No rain but it doesn't look promising for any brightness.

    Morning all.

Almost 7 hours of , mainly, uninterrupted sleep. Counts as a flippin' good night to me.

No nightmares, not sweats , no awake for hours. Great.

Bit of drizzle , but forecast is for a nice sunny day. k

    Hedychiums to pot up today.

Liri, I too suffer from Renaud's , can be v painful.

    Devon.

It sounds like you are working through it, Hostafan. what are you going to do with all the splittings?  Are you opening a nursery.?

I bought 6 corms/ tubers last year. They were less than fist sized. I lost one but the other 5 ended up bulging at the sides of 30l pots and I've ended up with about 15 plants or more.

I'm aiming for a  tropical "style" border , cannas, dahlias, giant hostas ,  ricinus and the likes.

    Devon.

I grew some hedychiums from seed a few years ago. They flowered in the  third year. I only use plastic pots for them now, because I couldnt get them out of the terracotta.  I meant what are you doing with all the Hostas?

You could have a stand at Chelsea. image Supply a GC?

I will be on Granny duty tonight and tomorrow, looking after son's 2 little ones while he and DIL go to a dental conference on implants in Bordeaux. The child minder will look after them during the day and I will go home. OH will have to feed the horses in the mornings.

Dordogne and Norfolk. Clay in Dordogne, sandy in Norfolk.
