A friend (who is a consultant) reckons nobody is an alcoholic unless they drink more than their doctor.
I have never seen people drink alcohol like student nurses (SIL was one - her hen night was not a thing of beauty).
When I worked in a hospital there were more doctors and nurses outside having 'fag breaks' than any other section of the staff.
I just give our practice nurse 'a look' if she asks me how much I weigh and how much exercise I do - the answers being 'a lot less than you' and 'a lot more than you' - in that order.
Heaven is ... sitting in the garden with a G&T and a cat while watching the sun go down
Back from my *exciting* bus trip to Burnley... well, it was useful (cheap catfood, various items of clothing from the charity shops) - and FREE. Might do something more exciting with OH, using our bus passes, tomorrow.
Yesterday I booked my train tickets to London in May. To celebrate getting my pension, I'm going to the Chelsea flower show for the first (and possibly only) time in my life, staying the night before and the night after in a studio flat in Hammersmith so I can get to the show for opening time and stay all day. I'm already looking forward to it, and researching the various gardens etc so I'll know what to expect. Nearer the time I'll be picking your brains for tips on the best way to "tackle" a Chelsea visit!
Since 2019 I've lived in east Clare, in the west of Ireland.

So did I! Being a doctor an all.
Very bad example to the profession I'm afraid. Obese, smoker, too much red meat, and probably a few other bad things I expect.
Do as I say, not as I do!
