GD - mine's a Fuji Finepix S8650 with a 36 x zoom.
I often find it easier to take photos at a normal sort of distance and then fiddle with them once they're transferred. Those buntings were about 40 feet away from me. I zoomed a little but I then cropped them on the laptop using Windows editor.
I was trying to show you the original of one pic and the cropped version so that you can see the change in the image, but it won't let me now
I'll try later GD
It's a place where beautiful isn't enough of a word....
I live in west central Scotland - not where that photo is...
Thanks Sheps. The rock formations can be stunning - like oyster shells. I suppose it's a similar geological process really - just above water rather than below !

Hi Fairy...your images are far from basic snaps and I'm not just saying that, from what I have seen in the short time I have been on GW, I'd say your photographs are very good indeed, especially your Landscape shots.

Beautiful shots, Fairy...I really like the last one though, what a fantastic rock formation and it makes a great perch for the Snow Bunt

With the new style forum, right click to open image in a new window to see the large version.
Sorry for the copyright on my shots, used to do a bit of freelance and I had a load of images stolen a few years back.
Sheps...
Gorgeous Sheps. Could tell yours were a bit more professional than my basic snaps
I can't get the resized pix to work GD - sorry. Nothing happens when I try to upload them. I'll try again another time.

Hi GD2...what is your budget?
There are so many good Bridge Cameras out there ( like Fairy's ) that cost between £100 - £200 and all of them are capable of very good images.
It all depends on what you want from your photograph?

Lovely pcs
Fairy and Sheps
Very kind of you Sheps. Sometimes tricky when it's very windy and cold up there!
I've managed to resize some so here goes:
The summit of Cruach Ardrain from the bealach
Looking the opposite way to the other Munro summit - Beinn Tulaichean
Nicely perched boulder!
View looking back across the little snowy dip before the summit. The eastern end of Beinn a Chroin behind it

Lovely photos, Fairy & Sheps!
Thank you.
