    Hello!  image

I haven't posted any photos on here before, because I wouldn't really call myself a photographer - I don't know a lot about it, and my camera isn't very high-tec, but I love the process of composition.  I'd really welcome criticism and suggestions.  image

Here are some photos from my recent holiday in Madeira.

I think your photos are lovely, Liri, but then I'm like you and my camera is quite simple. I take holiday and grandchildren snaps. And my garden, of course.

Dordogne and Norfolk. Clay in Dordogne, sandy in Norfolk.

Thanks, Lizzie.  image  I've just found there's an image editor on my Chromebook so I can crop or brighten my photos.  Might give it a try...

Liri - those are gorgeous  image

I particularly like the third and the fifth ones.

The image editor is a revelation! David steered me in the direction of it and it makes a huge difference, especially photos at this time of year when the colours can be washed out.

It's a place where beautiful isn't enough of a word....

I live in west central Scotland - not where that photo is...

This is a photo I took of Highland's House, Chelmsford, Essex.

  • Those are gorgeous, Liriodendron........you've obviously taken care with the composition. The last one (red flower on blue sky background) is particularly nice and works well with daffodils.

Thanks, everyone.  image  The red flower is a poinsettia, which grow into big shrubs in Madeira.

Re the image editor:  I'm still working out how this Chromebook works... I'm not really very good with technology  image

The fasciation on the daphne is interesting, Hosta. Is it only branch that has done it?
