A lovely day for gardening here but I hurt my back sneezing (image) this morning! Sat in the sun on garden bench for coffee this morning (We need that vitamin D to keep our bones strong girls).

steve 309. I sympathise with you regarding your Mum. I too have a poorly Mum who worries constantly. It can be very hard work at times. Just make sure you keep regular contact with her.

Hmm yes.   Thanks Mary.  I have little option at the moment as I'm staying with her for a bit.  Not cut out for the care of the elderly, me, being a selfish good-for-nothing.  Waiting for a 'phone call from the consultant's secretary.  Could wait till Christmas....

(is that the first mention of the C-word this year?)

Fantastic news Yvieimage.  It will be a busy time for you all but it will be great to see them 'settled' before the baby arrivesimage.  I've got Verbascum flush of white (somewhere). Hope I've labelled them wellimage.

Chilly here today too (sp) but faggots for teaimage.

Dove have you got your propogator yet?  I filled mine yesterday and sowed sweet peas in toilet rolls.  I keep looking at the bare soil alreadyimage.  They will germinate in their own time, as usual, and then I'll be desperate for somewhere to put them all.  Nothing changesimage.

Talking of Sweet Peas Lesley do you or anyone else know of a variety called knee high?

  • MarygoldMarygold Posts: 332

Steve 309. Good luck with that. Hope it's not anything too serious.

LesleyK. You sound just like me. When I've sown seeds I inspect them several times a day urging them to grow then end up having to juggle pots and trays around to find room. I've still got 1 tray of seedling from last year I didn't get round to planting out.image

Sorry to hear about your Mum Steve.  It's not an easy time for either of you.

Bushman I did grow some shorter sweet peas once but don't remember the name.  Apparently Knee highs grow to about 4ft.  I think mine were shorter but got battered by the rain and wind and disappeared in the mudimage.  Should have had little canesimage.

Marygold I think most of us are in the same club at this time of year.  Wish I could have a proper greenhouse but after hearing neighbours' glass shattering in the high winds I think I'll stick to the cheap plastic typeimage.  Unless I win the lotteryimage.

  • Lesley  image  the propagator arrived the other day ... I'm going to have to be careful not to start things too soon as I only have a small wooden mini-greenhouse to move things on to, so I think I'll wait until March to start things off.  imageimage

Dove, that's all I've got as well (mine's plastic though) but patience isn't my virtueimage.
