Evening all. I second Pdoc's advice. Your Dr should be the one advising because he/she knows your situation.
ive just seen the weather forecast for the next 4 days and it seems we'll be having 33, 34, 35, and 36. What a thrill! Still no rain either. FIJI got hit by a large cyclone overnight. Haven't seen much footage yet, except palm trees waving around like mad, As far as I know, no one was injured, thank goodness.
I have just picked another handful of climbing beans. They are building up in the fridge and we might have to end up freezing them. I've given up on the chard - there's just too much for us.
Rolf brought us a large shopping bag of peaches yesterday, so Hubby has made another cake with peaches in the bottom. So much for trying to be good with my diet for diabetes.
Five hours is not too bad. Will you try to watch tele or read a book? . I find just changing what you are doing helps, but hate just lying there is the dark trying to tell myself to go to sleep.

I don't wish to appear rude, but reading about drugs that you know nothing about does not enable you to make a decision on their suitability.
All sleeping tablets are potentially risky, but the may also be extremely beneficial.
I would certainly not suggest that anyone try them, before looking at other alternatives.
However if I had to choose 1 [ and I did ], Zopiclone would be my drug of choice.

Evening all.
Punkdoc, I don't think you're rude at all and I'm sure nobody else does either.
I asked for advice/ suggestions and I have been most grateful for the input of others, yourself included.
In the end, I'll weight everything up and make my choice.
My Doc is calling me on Wednesday to go through a sleep questionnaire over the phone. That too will help me make my choice.
Thanks again to all who have taken the time and effort to reply.

Hi Hosta. How are you feeling? I think the questionnaire sounds like a good idea. Hope you can get some sleep soon.
I'd be happy to swap as well, but we'll get that weather soon enough, by May I expect.
Pat. I have a confession
I gave in at 18.45 and went to bed. Now wide awake again ( 23.11)
I know it was wrong , but I couldn't stay awake.

I've got yesterday and today's newspapers / crosswords beside me to deal with once I've caught up on here.
