Not to mention sleepwalking, sleepeating, and hallucinations.Hostafan, have you tried the imagining walking around the perfect fantasy garden?

Sometimes I change it to lying on a beach somewhere tropical. You close your eyes and listen to the waves. As they come up the beach gently, you breathe in, as they ebb, you breathe out. Feel the sun on your face, concentrate on the waves. Let all other thoughts go. The sea comes up the beach, it goes out again.

Give it a try. Also make sure there are no electronic devices that emit light in the bedroom. The blue light they emit can hinder sleep.

    Evening all image

I am officially pooped image The Brownies had a whale of a time and I did a lot of standing around while they did their bits.... climbing wall, inflatables, various crafts and a silent disco - this one was fun image

Hosta, I'd try what Fidget is suggesting in the first instance image

Glad you've survived that Panda image

You've just reminded me of another technique which I found helpful for insomnia. You pick a subject - say plants -  and go through the alpahabet naming one with each letter. Or you could have two or whatever rule you want to apply . So - Anthemis, Buddleia, Caryopteris, Dicentra - you get the idea. I found it really helpful. image

It's a place where beautiful isn't enough of a word....

I live in west central Scotland - not where that photo is...
  • I have tried the sitting on the beach listening to waves on occasions, sometimes works.image

But I think if I tried to think of plant names it would keep me awake lol image

Glad you had a good time Panda image

When I was expecting my first baby I went to National Childbirth Trust antenatal classes. The midwife described Fidget's beach while we were all lying on the floor and some of us went to sleep!

Dordogne and Norfolk. Clay in Dordogne, sandy in Norfolk.

    Hi allimage

Sorry to hear of all the people struggling or unwell.  Really hope your friend gets a lift in spirits DD and that your other friend has a good result from tests.  My Mum had something similar which turned out to be 'stones'.

Panda a silent disco sounds like my kind of placeimage.  I went to bed with a headache, woke up with one, moved (with a little help) all the bedroom furniture before the carpet fitters arrived.  It looked great apart from the fact we couldn't close the bedroom door because of the thicker underlay.  The rest of the day has been taken up with door off, shave a bit, door on, off again - are you as fed up as me now?image

BusyL, loved the picture of the rose you posted, I will have to make a note if it for my wish list image

We had a sleep in this morning as we now have the correct number of neighbours and no extra beds/people all over the place....it was bliss! Had a pottering day doing H******k and put a beef casserole in the slow cooker for tomorrow. Also my driving licence arrived today! image still feels odd as I'm not driving yet lol....need to change insurance on Hubby's car and papa womble is prioritising his golf membership image so no banger on the horizon. Oh well at least I have a licence. Whether I will ever get to use it....image

Loved the pictures on the cheering up thread! Great idea and beautiful pictures image

Hope everyone has a great weekend

Lol Wonkyimage.  Not quite.  I've been using my Grandad's planer - bit rusty but when you eventually work out how to adjust it - it only takes three or four hours.  OH claims he can't use tools because he's left handed image.  It's great now though and I may never leave the bedroom again. He (on the other hand) may only be allowed in with a breakfast tray, lunch tray and dinner trayimage
