The Gingernut Cover-up ?

    Gingernuts.

    8oz flour . 1 tsp baking powder.  2 tsp ground ginger. half tsp ground spice.  3oz butter. 2 oz sugar. 2 tbsps golden syrup or treacle.

    Rub fat into sieved dry ingredients, add sugar and mix with warmed syrup to form a dough.

    Knead lightly, form into balls and put on greased tin  flattening them slightly and allowing the  room to spread.

    bake about 10 minutes in 375f oven. 

    Should make 8-12 biscuits or if rolled, 20 biscuits.

  • Pat - could you tie your OH to the stove and get him to do a bulk bake ..... I could contact my brother who's on holiday in Aus at the moment - he could ship a load back in his suitcase when he returns - I'm sure your OH will find bro finds a way to make a profit for both of them image
