It's a screen - there's a wide path behind it then a border in front of the boundary fence. About 8 or 9 feet away. This is the other side. It was taken last autumn when I was laying the new paths. I should take a more up top date one with the planting. The ropey fence at the end is temporary - the other side of it is where the extension will go ...eventually
It's a place where beautiful isn't enough of a word....
I live in west central Scotland - not where that photo is...
There's one or two that are similar Panda, but Niobe is so velvety and rich compared to some of the reddish ones. I'd like another as well but don't have a suitable spot for it. The front of the screen gets less sun - morning only - and I think it's much better on that side. Like lots of the reds or deep purples, it gets a little bleached on the other side.

A few pics from yesterday before the rain kicked in:
Tomato in hanging basket.
Dahlia deck.
Verbascum olympicum.
Unnamed bare root roses from parkers.
Grape vine and wisteria.
Clematis Niobe - after some rain. Definitely my favourite at the moment

Fairyg, I love that clematis
And now it has a lawn in front of it artjak . I'm like a proud mother

It's a lovely clematis. I've always wanted it and never had it in any of my previous gardens. It's flowered it's head off.

Is that a boundary fence or a 'room divider'? It's very stylish.
