There was a thread here where people complained about Vanmeuwen.

Dordogne and Norfolk. Clay in Dordogne, sandy in Norfolk.

BB - someone just posted yesterday about that lobelia - she was house sitting and needed an ID on as it was in the garden. image

The foliage is a great colour on it. I always avoid them because of the slug/snail issue but they're very striking plants. Great for ponds.

It's a place where beautiful isn't enough of a word....

Love the cardinal, and Lady Emma too!  Beautiful colours both.  What have you put Lady Emma with Lizzie?  Its quite a hard colour to place.

agree to avoid VM.  I bought great agapanthus online from Pine Cottage nurseries earlier in the year.  Great plants, which have all flowered this year, and she even threw a free one in for good measureimage.  Just checked, and they have Queen Mum on their list imageimage

It is actually on the pond fairygirl, on the marginal shelf so no threat  from the s&s image this photo does'nt do the colour justice.

These latest stars are such a variety and stunning colours  image thanks for sharing.

I'm impressed with the second flush of your DA rose Busy-Lizzie,  having de-nuded mine of the black spot leaves can see new shoots so just maybe more  blooms before the season is finished. Could be my star of next week image

Thank you Beau image it is a beauty. If I hadn't got it on  the shelf on the pond I would have used a shallow trough as it loves having roots in water.

There's a thought fairygirl: a mini pond!  image

I aim to please BB! You can never have too many ponds image

I should have seen it was on the pond edge image...distracted by the terrific colour image

I know what you mean about not having to worry about molluscs when you've got the pond but it's getting to the point where you have the balance of frogs that's the tricky part! I could have grown it by the pond at my last house as we had loads of frogs, and a nice clump of Crocosmia Lucifer for another burst of bright red to go with it, but the rabbits were a big problem and they would have snaffled it instead.  image
