currently the star in my garden is cytisus x spachianus (Easter broom). I don't know why it is called Easter broom, because it has flowers all year round, but now it is the most full.
Thanks Susan. It's a pasqueflower - pulsatilla. It's actually a bit more of a reddish violet than it looks in the pic and I bought it specifically for that spot as it's near Clematis 'Constance' which is very similar in colour.
It's a place where beautiful isn't enough of a word....
