Sorry LP no idea but it is lovely image

  • looks a bit like The President LP - I have flowers on that too, but without a close-up it's hard to identify.  I'm a bit sad that because I did not trim three plants hard enough last year they were straggly at the base and only flowered high up, so I have already cut them hard back.  Never mind - bet I get a good show next year.

Thanks!, I am always amazed at the blue ones which seem to flower later and last longer than the pink.

Hmmm, think I have some research to do

has anyone ever seen a clematis on the red/burgandy colour scheme? I need something that colour to go beside it at this time of year.  All ideas welcomeimage

  • just been out to photo the clematis - the first is the President, the second Ernest Markham but I think they are both more strongly coloured earlier in the year. Regarding a dark red - Niobe does very well for me against a wall (last picture).

  • Hello Susan - sadly I no longer have my white one and can't remember it's name for the moment (possibly Marie Boisselot or something like that) but you are right, it was a big blousy beauty and wonderful at night when being white it was highly visible.
