Dark damp and dreary this morning but warm. No puddles so water table still low and I did not manage to collect any rainwater in the bowls I put out. But i am expecting three new plants I ordered on Friday to arrive today - all perennials, Heuchera "Chocolate Ruffles", Incarvillea delaveya "Snowtop" and Diascia rigescens. Three beauties for me to care for.
The birds will not be short of berries this autumn. The rowan and hypericums are covered as is the pyracantha whose berries have not coloured up yet. I had to change my clothes after taking these pics and harvesting some potatoes as I was rain soaked. I did nor realise the garden was so damp as the sun was shining.
Hi happymarion, I have only just joined but I have been reading the forums here for quite a while and I wanted to say how much I have enjoyed the photographs and posts of your stunning scented garden. I don't have a garden but my yard is packed with wall baskets and containers which I started this year, mainly from seeds but with a few bulbs and small plugs. It has been lovely to read your thread and has put a smile on my face on dull days.
Glad to be of help on dull days, Bloodrose. I find dull days are better light for good pictures but sunny days do my soul the world of good. Your yard sounds lovely. it is amazing what a little imagination can do with a wall and some plants.
Rain forecast for today but has not arrived yet so i have done the deadheading and taken a picture of my new Heuchera "Chocolate Ruffles" which arrived yesterday and does have ruffled leaves with burgundy backs as advertised. There is one bud on the white incarvillea and the diascia has good growth on it. I love getting to know new plants. They are the first to be examined every morning.
