I think it's only in the seeds. Wasn't it used by the Russians to do away with someone severeal years ago? In an umbrella tip? (Good job it wasn't raining at the time).
Hostafan 1, where did you have this "awful" summer? We had weeks where our (5) water butts were all empty, lady walked by as I was gardening the front, said cold summer I said it was up in the 20s as we spoke, so she said "Ah, but there hasnt been much sun", I wonder if we live in the same place! The same same folk who complain if it get to 26d. A couple of weeks ago, my Husband driving to work said there was a frost going through a village about 13 miles away from here. At that point it went into single figures at night, but lately has been 13d. My Canna didnt even flower this year.
There's huge variation in climate in Britain Nanny. Hosta gets a lot of rain where he is in Devon. We had a lousy summer too - even by our standards (west Scotland). If you're at any altitude, the weather is totally different from lower down, adn teh temps on forecast are for cities. Drop that a fair bit if get more rural. Our temps are, on average, between 5 and ten degrees lower than the south at any time, and when you add wind factor, that's a big difference.
It's a place where beautiful isn't enough of a word....
I live in west central Scotland - not where that photo is...

Well, that might do the trick. Depends how fast it works. (Do I use too many brackets?)

I lifted this years and put them through the shredder a couple of days ago. Still here to tell the tale.
