Lots of people wearing just shirts, blouses or T-shirts while Christmas shopping yesterday! All of my garlic is 6" high - hope the lack of cold doesn't stop them splitting into cloves. Still, the Exacta forecasters may still be right if we extend January and February to 45 days each! (Hope that hasn't doomed March to be a wintery hell though!)
A trowel in the hand is worth a thousand lost under a bush.
Whenever we have a mild December or January my mother takes great pleasure in reminding me that the terrible winter weather of 1963 (which I only just remember) didn't start until late January and then continued through February and March!

21st is the shortest day in the year.
I have rhubarb here as tall as in march.
Potatoes sprouting in the potato pit.
Flowers on strawberries.
Thought this was to be the hardest winter in 50 years.
Our met service here in Ireland say forecasting beyond a week is pure guess work, and I agree.
Must be today or tomorrow pansyface, after that it's really spring.

Our winters never really start properly till January and hang around a long time. Anything remotely milder or drier at this time of year is a bonus
So far it's been milder occasionally, but it's all meaningless hooey von fooey really.
The mild weather won't continue indefinitely - no matter what anyone believes!

We'll get what we get. Weather. Same as any other year

Absolutely nut. Isn't it funny how we become consumed with it though!

What worries me, is stuff is growing now, and soft growth may get a hefty knockback when the really cold weather gets here.
