I stayed up half the night to watch the eclipse as therewon't be another one for years. It was fabulous with clear skies but today I am dying, it's a full on day'swork here in the NHS and I am too old to be staying up all night. Wouldn't have missed it though
I too was up till 4 something clear skies but muddy rather than red Just looked out of my window and it looks like Mars with a circle of cloud around its middle beautiful Its 19.22 bst near Miltom Keynes if anyone else wants to look out
yes, I noticed Venus Jo, I wasn't sure what it was it was so bright, then I remembered the term 'morning star' and it was obvious. I wondered for a moment if it was some space tourists here for the eclipse, then I remembered that they are more interested in watching our traffic jams going in and out of cities, in their big black triangles.
Oh, and just to add a confirmation that mud moons are bad luck - someone left the gate to the field open after the event this morning, half a dozen rams got in and dessimated my 2 wisteria and my liriodendron. I am not surprised that there won't be another, similar, event like it until 2033. I might just about have got another liriodendron seedling to flowering size by then. Also, strangely, I had a dreadful argument with my husband... probably the moon, and the photograph of it through his camera FROM INSIDE THE FIELD!!

Well done, Marion...it does illustrate clearly how the moon was dominating your skyline.

The moon is back to looking her old self tonight.
I agree with those who found it rather unspectacular last night.
For anyone interested in the techie stuff: The above was taken with a Fuji Finepix HS50 EXR camera, with 42x zoom 24-1000mm lens.

I'm really tired now - as well as actually staying up to take the photos, the video took a lot of processing!

Thank you Bob - really lovely to see and very clear - now I hope you're getting some zzzzzzzzzzzzs
