Peter West was a cricket commentator, and also commentated and compered lots of stuff on the "wireless" and television. I remember him in a Dinner Jacket - suave and seemingly sophisticated. I think he disclaimed any great knowledge on anything, but morphed into a personable commentator on anything and everything. (I think he died several years ago, well into his 80s).
Congratulations, the sound people got it right this time, the singers and orchestra sounded good. I spotted a 50 gallon drum and some packing cases also a harp on a cloud, why? I did pray for divine intervention at one period, there was no intervention and it was not divine. What happened to the judges have they been on a course "how to make people love you" I wonder.
There was some dancing in there roll on next week.
It started very well with fair and constructive comments and appropriate scoring so I welcomed the new broom/head judge but I reckon the judges got carried away towards the end. Far too many 7s and 8s.
However - good music choices, well sung and good sound quality and some good dancing and clever choreography tho I still can't cope with egotistical AJ and Giovanni. Same old camera work/direction. I want to see the feet and the head and the bits in between please. How hard can it be?
Some good costumes and some horrors - as usual. Enjoyed it tho.
Vendée - 20kms from Atlantic coast.
"The price good men (and women) pay for indifference to public affairs is to be ruled by evil men (and women)."
Think I saw different dancing last night. Thought the scoring was rather strange at times. Thought the vicar was rather highly scored for one. Agree, far too many 7s & 8s
Not sure about the new judge yet.
A few I quite like, not got a favourite just yet. Poor Ruth she was so nervous, hope she's not the first to go. I'm sure her loose women and This Morning fans will get voting for her.
Debbie Whotnot gets on my nerves, hope she goes sooner rather than later

I remember Terry Wogan on Come Dancing
Hope all fans are enjoying the first programme...
I find choosing the drinks and eats are a vital component of the experience too.
I enjoyed it, but without the eats - I'm on a diet
Meant to say I enjoyed it, but the new judge sometimes marks for how much she enjoyed the dance, not how good it actually was technically.

Craig puts it on though, he was nice in "Who do you Think you Are".
