You said "almost the same". I don't think it was but who cares? It was great. One of my favourite films ever and one of my favourite Strictly dances too.

"The price good men (and women) pay for indifference to public affairs is to be ruled by evil men (and women)."
Im surprised and disappointed to find that someone with acknowledged emotional/mental health difficulties has been told to 'snap out of it' and called narcissistic and other unkind things on this thread.
That is not only unkind to the person concerned but could be felt to be bullying and damaging to others who have anxiety, depression, PTSD and other mental health issues, of whom we have several amongst us.
I'm really saddened by this

Gardening in Central Norfolk on improved gritty moraine over chalk ... free-draining.
The boy left for his own reasons and so be it. Joanne worked some bits of the film into the Choreography which you would expect, I thought it cleverly touched the edges of the film and the whole brilliant.
We move on and I for one have no favourite dancers as yet, cannot even guess at who will be out this week. I am unexpectedly enjoying the show from the beginning something that has not happened other years, Saturday I will sit back in my chair and let it flow over me like warm chocolate, lovely.
Runnybeak ((hugs)) so sorry to hear that your son is finding things difficult - there are members of my own family who struggle. I hope that things improve for him soon.
I don't think Obelixx meant the comment as a put down - I think she meant that the choreography and performance were so great that it doesn't matter (i.e. who cares?) if some of it was 'borrowed' from the film.
Anyway, Picasso once said something along the lines of 'Good artists copy, great artists steal' - meaning that if you're a great artist you can take something that someone else has done and give it your own interpretation and put your own stamp on it and make it your own. I think it's acknowledged that is what Joanne's choreography did on Saturday night.

For anyone thinking that a middle class privileged upbringing and success as a pop star will have cushioned Will Young from some of the traumas that life can throw at you, perhaps this may enlighten you - if you can bear to read it

indeed so Dove. Some people's attitude to mental health seems stuck in the mid 19th Century.
Maybe the suggest anorexics just eat something ?

I agree Dove, this was supposed to be a fun light hearted thread. I feel rather sad about some comments on here.

Frank.
"Oops" giving secrets away there.
Saturday was the first time I have seen this series and looking forward to Saturdays show
So being the only person present when his brother slit his own wrists wouldn't apply then?
Mental illness isn't something you can 'snap out of'. If it was nobody would be suffering from any form of mental illness.

I applaud Will Young for taking the brave step to recognise his own frailty and take steps to protect himself.
