Don't think it made much difference, it would have been either this week or next week, she just doesn't have the public support, I don't know why. Before this programme I didn't know her, but then I hardly know who anybody is. It was just becoming embarrassing for her, I do wish we got to see the number of votes, it would make a bit more sense, she might have just been missing out by a few and then it wouldn't have seemed so bad.
I am just hoping that Georgia and Giovanni haven't peaked too soon and I hope Jay has more to give. But then I really like Anita's dancing and Gleb's er-hmm choreography, of course.

DD, Jamelia is a singer and for one who thinks all the modern crowd horse manure I thought her good. Jamelia was in a Quiz show with Gabby Logan which I also thought well above the normal quiz shows. The kind where "for £10,000 where is the Sahara Desert" "Oh I know that Germany" and the look of shock when told it is wrong, what do they learn in school I ask. To so called Celebs used to the odd bombing on stage, they cannot appeal to all I would say they get used to it. Peter with an ego bigger than a Jumbo Jet must have got a real shock being in the dance off and the look on his face said "I am finished" only to be saved by three of the judges, as I said a travesty.
Big Strictly fan here too, I always read this thread but not jumped in before. I agree about Kelly's outfits, they *must* be able to do better, surely? I think both dance-off-ers (?!) were similar last night, but am glad Jamelia went - if she'd have stayed she would just have had to endure yet another dance off next week and gone then anyway. Glad she was spared that and was able to go out on something of a high. I like everyone that's left, though some more than others obviously - loved Anita's paso and thought the music choices were much better overall.
I got round to watching this today, and thought of everyone on here. Not everyone will enjoy the music, I'm sure, but it's very cleverly done and a great chance to see some lovely dancing https://youtu.be/M1F0lBnsnkE

Welcome to the thread LG, all opinions welcome though we do not agree with each other at all times. The music is a hot topic on some of the other forums and the consensus is it is dire. The Resident Band do their best with what they are given but even as a once keen dancer I do wonder how the Celebs manage to make sense of it. Learning a new dance in a few days, two next week, then having to dance to music which has no direct connection to the mode of the dance must be harrowing for some. there are plenty of good music scores to suit the mood of the dance without having to repeat tunes so why try to introduce modern stuff that never had a beat to it in the first place. At least on Saturday evening most of the music did suit the dancers and it certainly showed, may it continue please. Saying all that I turned the sound off when One Direction were on.
I seem to have missed this thread, I usually join in with the "Strictly" thread.
I think Jamelia was better in the dance off than Peter. I also think it was the wrong music for the jive and he was wearing the wrong outfit - that perhaps wasn't his fault, but I don't think he was precise enough or had enough to do in the dance. Jamelia has made huge progress and I felt rather sorry for her that she kept being in the dance off when often she wasn't one of the worst two. Couldn't have done much for her confidence so I'm glad she made it to Blackpool.
I think Anita was amazing, but my favourite is Georgia and I like Helen too - but then I loved "The Midwives" so I may be biased!
Dordogne and Norfolk. Clay in Dordogne, sandy in Norfolk.
I do get a bit fed up when celebrities, or anyone else, reckon that it's hard to learn a new dance each week. They're getting 20 to 30 hours of one to one tuition from a world class professional to learn a 90 second sequence and an intro.
Ordinary folk in dance clubs like ours get 28 to 30 weeks of one hour classes with one teacher and anything from 5 to 15 couples learning new steps in each of the 10 dances - tho beginners usually don't get Foxtrot and Viennese waltz in their first year. We have to do our practice sessions without the teacher.
By the time the celebs on Strictly have to do two dances they know their partner and they've seen enough different dances to understand rhythm and basic steps and structures of dances and should be picking up steps faster. It may require hard work and concentration but they should be thanking their lucky stars for the opportunity.
I do agree some of the music choices haven't helped and the person or persons responsible for thinking a Paso looks good to rock music wants shooting. Paso is a fabulous but demanding dance and deserves suitable music, as do tango and all the rest.
The costume department needs to pull up its socks too but at least, so far, we haven't had any wardrobe malfunctions of the sort that trip people up or where bits of dress fall off or snap. Kelly's outfits have been frightful and Georgia seems to be stuck in a dull colour rut. On the other hand, Anita's dress was fabulous on Saturday and I like Gleb's traditional top too. Katie seems to get decent frocks too.

Agree with all of that Obilixx although with one to one instruction for hours a week some will never get it. If you do not feel the rhythm of the dance and some people never do, Carol Jeremy and the first man out make the point. I suppose those of us who started at an early age did have an advantage and it also shows in the Celebs who had some training when younger, like cream they usually rise to the top. My Daughter learning now after years of saying it was old hat, wonders why she does not have the same confident dance style Mum and Dad had, we both learned very young, it came naturally, it is much harder when older.

I also think the wrong one went home.
