Star Gaze Lily, image methinks you stir things a bit.image it is a dance competition much to the surprise of those none dancers wanting an X type show, it has so proved. Of the four dancers left I will applaud the best be it Gemma Joe Debby or Alex, it is not down to the judges it is down to us the voting public who by some miracle may pick the best dancer and not the the one impersonating a jumbo jet flying through the air with the greatest of ease as the song goes.

Joe for me too SGL.   He's made tremendous progress and I like his personality.

Sorry Frank, the technicalities are outwith my knowledgeimage

The right people were in the dance off and the right one won.   Both danced better than in the show but, in the dance off, Gemma's tango was far better than Mollie's waltz.

I suspect Joe will win in the end unless he has more balance issues or Katya does a really bad choreography for their show dance.    He's he only one that hasn't been in a dance off so is clearly popular with the public.    Gemma doesn't have the self belief or the technique and I don't thing Debbie and Alexandra will get enough votes unless they do a spectacular show dance.

Can't understand why people still go on about Aston.  He wasn't good enough and did a really bad dance the week he went out.

Aston was entertaining, and was pretty great early in the competition, so if still in would have likely sailed past the others.  Gemma has been pretty poor for weeks, including the week he was voted out.

Alexandra has been consistently great.  Debbie has been brilliant other than the spice girls routine.  And Joe has grown on me.  Just hope for some good song choices and routines in the final.  I have not been that impressed with the music picks this year.

Aston was entertaining to start with but didn't improve.  Gemma started slower but has improved every week.

Alexandra's been consistently good but not always great.   Her rumba the other week was poor with bad techinique and little understanding of the rhythm and no feeling.   Gemma's rumba technique tonight was good and so was her tango.

  • Sorry Frank but i'm  not stirring things at all.

I'm just saying I'd like to see Joe win and not Debbie or AB  Just my opinion, like you have yours.

Yes it's the publics vote.........unless of course.......it's not a fix.

  • Managed to catch the results show last night. Can't stand that waltzer (don't know her name) but I liked Gemma (?) in the tango.

There seems to be a lot more shrieking than when I last watched regularly. image

Star Gaze Lily, you see that is the difference, those of us who danced from an early age do know what we are looking for where as those who danced round their handbags and rowed boats sitting on the floor like the glitz, the wham bang thank you Ma'am bits I call them.

At least all my younger Grandchildren are now learning Ballroom properly, two of my Daughters also go to classes so I get demonstrations when they come every weekend with the youngest one telling my Daughter how it should be done. Must admit my heart sings as in future they too will know what they are looking at if SCD is still going.

Have to disagree with Obelixx when Mollie relaxed in the dance off it was a very good waltz and Gemma did make a mistake. the Tango we did was intense but not fierce as Gemma did it and we were also slower, we did not make the floor smoke as we flew round.

It's not necessary to have danced from an early age to know what to look for in the dances and the dancers, any more than it's essential to be a great musician to appreciate music and know when a bum note has been hit.

I've never danced from choice, although I was forced to be part of the country dancing team at my primary school, because apparently I had natural rhythm whatever that is. Actually maybe that's exactly why I've hated dancing ever since?

Although I enjoy the showy 'wham bang' stuff, I can still see when a mistake is made.  It drives me nuts when the camera moves in for close up in the middle of a complex section.  I want to see the feet - all the time.
