wiccafairy - it's a question of taking time to explain to children that nothing in the garden goes in their mouth without checking with you first. No different to household items. Hopefully you can grow a few edible things which the children can help plant and harvest etc
I'm a single mum too - yes, people can be very quick to judge. I know only too well about a garden being a sanctuary. Good luck to you all.
It's a place where beautiful isn't enough of a word....
I live in west central Scotland - not where that photo is...
It's really nice to meet you Wiccafairy and AJ 2 - very brave of you both to go on national TV!
Stick around on the forum - it's a friendly place to be & we all have different life and gardening experiences. There's lots of friendly advice available if you would like it (free plants and seeds too sometimes!)
Great to hear you've both been inspired to keep using and maintaining your spaces - makes the series truly worthwhile.
Heaven is ... sitting in the garden with a G&T and a cat while watching the sun go down
Never mind Harry - there are loads of other channels to choose from. I've been enjoying the series and there is always something of interest. It's daytime TV with a limited budget and it makes a change from all the antique shows (quite enjoy them too).
Yes I am definitely warming to it. It did have lots of good tips and advice for novice gardeners today. And needed a big heart to attempt to tame that overgrown garden. I am giving it a thumbs up. I agree the presentation style is low key but I prefer that to some of the guff that AT comes away with sometimes.

Glad you got rid of purple chipping we, yuk! I was worried about foxgloves with little ones nearby, when littlest get to 3 you can explain not to eat, but my 20 month old puts everything in his mouth ( lots of pebbles seem to fascinate him! ) I watch on planner if I get chance, it' s the bottom of my gardening programme list though, Danny seems a lovely chap but not a natural, anyway, those who know me know I just love Monty! Like carol , rachel de t , and Christine w too
He is so laid back, he's horizontal. I did think the purple stuff was going to be more substantial than shreddings, but not so good an idea with toddlers as they put everything in their mouths.
The seed swap is a great place if you want to grow your own plants, fruit, veg and perennials.

Susan - it's strange how the only posts from some people are to criticise....
I agree hogweed - frankly I'm tired of watching people present programmes as though they're adolescents who've consumed too many Red Bulls

Think Jim might benefit from one now and again!

The presenter used to be on Blue Peter.
