Thankyou Susan- mum and dad worked really hard on it and were shattered afterwards. Dad was so excited to come up and help out that he forgot shoes! He had to do the show in his slippers... I wonder if anyone noticed?!?! I am definetly loving my tea light jars- I have found a few more to add to the collection.
Glad you're enjoying your new space AJ. Rather short sighted of the housing company not to allow shutters - it would have been the perfect solution for you.
I expect you can add all sorts of extras to the design. That's what a garden should be - suitable for the owner so that it gets used. I know some people hate makeover shows but they always have a place. I felt this one was more realistic for a greater number of ordinary people with ordinary plots who don't know where to start or don't have much money to spend. No matter how experienced we might become, we were probably all in that position at one time.
It's a place where beautiful isn't enough of a word....
I live in west central Scotland - not where that photo is...
Fairygirl, you have summed the show up perfectly. I enjoyed it. The skill level and required resources were, or seemed to be, aimed at ordinary folk with ordinary lives. As you say, we've all started somewhere. Some people get the bug and move on to bigger and better things but, I suspect, there are more people who are happy to spend as little time and money in their garden as possible and just enjoy the space.
Afternoon all. Have been reading through your various comments and felt I had to say something as I work for the company who supplied the plants, pots and soils for The Instant Gardener. However we did not supply the purple chippings or artificial grass.
If any of you would like to know where the pots came from please have a look at our company website - www.provendernurseries.co.uk
Thank you Lizziehort for the website and info as to where the pots are from
really like the tall coloured pots are there small pots they same style as the large coloured ones?
I am watching each show again each week as repeated early on a Sunday so they are still available to watch on iplayer - we have a You View box so can watch on tv
Thank you for the information of where to get the pots really liked them, I enjoyed all of the gardens I've watched all of them and they all vary was a bit worries about foxgloves but people on here have reassured me they should be okay, does anyone know anything about clematis's a the one they put in my garden no3 looks like it's died but has no roots it might just be a seasonal thing but don't know much.
