I always watch gardening programs however good or bad they are. This one is not my favourite but it does pass the time better than watching soaps and such like. It's low budget, low tech and lower level gardening but I suspect there are more 'gardeners' in this category than any other! No one is forced to watch it.
Oh, by the way, Humpty Dumpty, you Sir or Madam are a bigot!
I notice that Humpty Dumpty has only made one posting on the forum - and it was the one on this thread.
Somebody with an axe to grind maybe
We have no idea what this person's personal circumstances have been - so it is unfair, unreasonable and downright prejudiced to assume that she is an 'undeserving' case. She might be the most deserving of the lot - but just chose not to go into all her personal stuff on national TV.
Leaving aside the use of astro-turf and other maintenance free products (which were very practical for her) - I think I probably liked the finished result in this garden most of all. Very functional as a kiddies play area but it looked quite pretty too.
Heaven is ... sitting in the garden with a G&T and a cat while watching the sun go down
I agree with you Topbird, I thought the garden looked quite nice, although artificial grass wouldn't be my choice. Having said that, if I was bringing up five kids on my own I doubt I'd have the time to mow twice a week so it probably suits the circumstances perfectly. Gardens and gardening is a very particular pleasure. It should suit the individual concerned.
PS - I think Carol Klein is brilliant, for all the reasons you mention.

Gardening in Central Norfolk on improved gritty moraine over chalk ... free-draining.

I haven't watched this programme yet, so can't comment. Might try to find it on catch up.
Thought I was the only one who didn't like Carol Klein.
Yes rather rude, Humpty.

PS - I love Carol Klein - knows her stuff, not afraid to appear on TV in 'proper' gardening clobber - and she has muckier hands and nails than me!

Agree Carol Klein knows what she's talking about........but there's just something about her. Sorry .
Love Carol Klein. She is a 'proper' gardener who knows her stuff.
