Interesting to see what others like to do and it seems quite a few have things in common.
For me it's horses, dogs, countryside things, wildlife, long distance walking. Fine wine and good food. I'm also an opera fan... indeed we're soon off to Vienna
Northernlass what a wonderful opportunity to be able to go to Vienna - do you have a particular opera planned or are you just taking pot luck on what is on there? The closest I have ever been to live opera is when Andre Rieu's team performed in Melbourne. I've got lots of his DVDs but it doesn't compare to live performace.
i also love live theatre - mostly musical and have been to some of them when we lived in Melbourne - "the boy from Oz" and "anything goes". I've just remembered that in about 1975-76 I think, Edward Woodward (of Callan fame) gave a concert in Canberra - it was very good.
I run a garden group which meets once or twice a month from April to October and am president of the local dance club so dancing of some sort most evenings from September to May.
At home I do embroidery or knit simple scarves and cowls while watching TV and on rainy days I sew clothes for me and sometimes OH but not Possum and I paint or otherwise restore old furniture and other stuff found in local brocantes which are a cross between flea markets, car boot sales and antique markets.
I have 5 recently dipped pine kitchen chairs awaiting my attention come the rainy days of autumn and an oak hall table and a bedroom chair to reupholster and a dozen galvanised pots I've undercoated with red lead but still need to paint and decorate.
In between all that I have my garden full of treasures and crops to look after, weeds to remove, jams and chutneys to make, obelisks and trellis to paint and maintain and the dogs to walk plus a house that needs an occasional clean............. and I do the baking when we organise a special class at the dance club.
When I retire from running the dance club which is voluntary but time consuming, I will add photography and patchwork to my list of activities and maybe find a local wildlife group to join and I'd quite like to have a go at making leaded glass panels.
Vendée - 20kms from Atlantic coast.

I am indeed going to the SRS. Also going to see Rigolletto at the State Opera House and The Magic Flute at Volksopera and a strauss concert. I was working over there most weeks till just a couple of months ago so know the city reasonably well. One of my favourite cities in the world. Much better when I'm not working though
Oh my, ..... wonderful! I love all of them. Some of those arias from Flute stay in my mind like a flea in the ear for days - I wake up with them still in my mind from the night before. I'm particularly entranced with deep male voices.

You certainly have a lot of interests many of which I find fascinating
