Oh Hostafan, I love opera too. Have you been watching Antonio Pappano on a Sunday evening?

  • I love reading, not a great TV fan.  My wife is taking up sewing and I like to help when called to do sew (so, no pun intended)  I'll go back to my model making in the winter.

Oldtyke, I saw the first one on sopranos. Callas, as ever , made me weep.

I met Pappano and his wife when I went to Holland Park Opera with an opera critic mutual friend. He's a lovely guy.

    Devon.
  • I`m hoping to see Andre Rieu in December image

Susan, see more.lots more. Start with the standards like Boheme and Traviata,, carmen and Madam Butterfly. Such easy stories to follow and such wonderful music,

I'ts  like cheese, everyone starts with mild cheddar, nobody starts with Stilton.

Do the easier ones first and then move up until you get to Wagner , tee hee.

I was weaned on Gorganzola as a child. With the gardening comes baking, making jam, pickles.  Mild cheddar that isnt cheese! Knitting, sewing, painting furniture.

Painting (anything from watercolour botanic paintings to old furniture that I find here and there).

    Photography, including digital fancywork.

Fine embroidery (not cross stitch... the counting puts me to sleep).

Writing (although, that is not really a hobby anymore).

Spending time with my pets (and looking after them). 1 big dog, 2 ponies (one small one big), 2 cats, 9 ducks and a million gold fish.

    Cooking.

  • The best game in the world, Rugby League. Fast, exciting, tough, uncompromising, skillfull and honest. Oh, and I like cooking too. Also, spending time with Frank my chocolate labrador, loyal, affectionate, gentle and very noble. He's not too shoddy at keeping pesky cats away too!
