I reckon you did the right thing putting them in the shade Christine - I would keep them watered and cool over night and I reckon they'll be okay.
Apparently sweet peas don't like being disturbed although I repot mine. I had a cool day yesterday when I repotted mine so I got away with putting them in the sunshine today. It's hot out there!
Ok thank you, hope ive not lost them, they were quite hard to get out as i am only a beginner, did the mistake of putting about 10 in a pot fingers crossed they will recover but they look bad.
Hi Christine, they might be drippy but they will recover, it is because you have transplanted them that is all, they are in shock they will be perky in no time! I have had the same thing befire and they always come back to life they might do it when you put them out, hope you have watered after you planted into other pots. Also don't forget to harden them off too!
Not done much this year so far-as the bleak photos of the garden show! But what seeds we have sown seem to have come up incredibly fast! Dahlias, Zinnia, Malva and Sweet Peas shot up after 4 days! Maybe Worcestershire has magic warmth!
OHs Zinnia and Sweet Williams going along happily, any idea on why the Echinacea has gone fuzzy/mouldy?! Apparently one of his Delphiniums on the far right has popped up - though I'm yet to see it
All of mine came up, and much faster than the OHs much to his dismay-not that we are competitive or anything! Dahlias were first and I'm guessing I should pot on, the Malva came up at the same time, I've never grown it before, so any tips on what to do next are appreciated, Sweet Peas came next and are growing lots every day, they're a fragrant type called blue skies. I thought my black pansies weren't going to come up, but they arrived about two days ago and I can't wait for those to flower!

Thank you Flowergirl, i watered them, they seem to be looking little bit better. What does harden of mean?xx
Hi Christine, so once they have grown into their pot and it is time to plant out, over the course of 10-14 days you put the plants out during the day and bring them back in at night "acclimatising" them to the outside world so they dont die of shock when you plant them outside, you have to do it with all plants.

Am I the only person who has overcast skies still?
