When do you prick out new seedlings into larger pots??

When they look like they need more space.  Depends on what they are, how close together they are and what size pot they're in now.

If you've sown lots together in a seed tray (or pot for that matter), they'll need doing as soon as they're big enough to handle, otherwise their roots will get entangled.  Lever them out with a pencil or similar, lift them up gently by the leaves only (don't grip the stem as it'd be damaged) and lower into a hole you've already made (with the pencil) in their new home.  Firm in gently, water from the bottom and Bob's your uncle.

If you have just two or three in a pot, thin out the weaker ones to leave just one strong seedling.  It can stay there till the roots start showing through the drainage holes; then move the whole lot to a pot a size or two bigger with some nice new compost.

I have these at the moment. It is 2017 though, there should be a thread for this year somewhere.

i was particularly pleased with the pink pansies as there were multi colours everywhere and seed collected from the pink have come true.

I try and force myself not to sow in the autumn now so I don’t have to worry about seedlings through the winter.  Never works, I have to do it!?

They are pansies as well but bought ones. One tray of ice blue, one of Amber.

the long straggly ones are trailing Violas. I am a Pansy fan?
