This is just such a great idea - just found the discussion. Your seeds all of make mine look really sad ???? I dont have a propogator and using the alternative suggestion of cling film or food storage bags- it is working well but think I may have started off too late for the seeding guidelines if I dont have a propogator though I know alot of people dont use them.
I have just bought some nice mini greenhouse type cloches and am getting some of the bell type. All set to put them out after the weather warms up but poor little things I think I will be too embarrassed to post any photos.
A question maybe a bit daft- I am a beginner at this- can I just put the cloches on the grass with the pots in them or should I put something under the cloche?
i haven't got a propagator either, cling film on when the nights were cold and I have just started pricking out. Most of them are only an inch high, except Ricinus which went from popping up out of the compost to 6 inches over night!
today I sowed the last of my seeds. That's it for another few months.
Gardening on the wild, windy west side of Dartmoor.
Don't be disheartened begonia3, this is an old thread from last year. I was just looking back at mine from 4th April 2015.
This year I've been quite lazy and have only just sown mine yesterday so nothing to show yet but trays of compost, I don't expect to see anything green until next week at the earliest.
Are your cloches the arched tunnel type or do you mean a plastic mini greenhouse with a tubular frame? Also letting us know what seeds you're growing will help us give advice, are they hardy or half hardy?
I'm flattered with the suggestion that a computer incompetent like me should start the new thread. I will hang back and see if garden girl is still around to kick it off ( it was her idea originally), in the meantime I will try to learn how to do photos on my new tablet then you can see my shelf of seed trays.

I'd like to know what Mike Friday's mystery seedlings were.
