    beautiful, wintersong. after the physocarpus blooms the bracts flush deep crimson-sweet.

    will, nice thalictrum. after a couple of years of fiddle-farting around have got t. rochebrunianum and t. splendide going. i really need 9 ft. thalictrums.image

    Lovely blues/violets and limey greens in your vignettes, David. That Salvia is gorgeous. Yep, rochebrunianum is definitely on my radar, must get some seed!



    Congrats on the new border, Winter. Already has a lot of impact and colour.

    So many great pictures too numerous to mention. I can get plenty of ideas from them for the future.image

    Here are some more photos from me,some still a work in progress.

    An old water trough which I think I will plant up with herbs.Two mints to pot on which will stand in an old wash tub with no bottom. Monkey flowers and geraniums. Sweet rocket and finally plum tart iris.image

    Love the water trough! And I would love some of that white Sweet Rocket. I'm growing the purple kind from seed someone gave me.

    frit-nice trough, great iris.

    a mint recipe

    bring an adequate amount of cream almost to the boil.

    add a couple of crushed mint leaves. let it steep for a few minutes.

    remove mint and bring cream to a boil.

    add as much sherry as you like, pour over a bowl of excellent mussels

    serve with good bread and possibly an eggplant caponata
