Verdun, love the colour combination with the poker, your Amistad looks great, I bought one this year, could you give me some advise, My neighbours had two of these last year but this year they didn't come back, they are not garden people, my questions is what should I do with my one, should I leave it in the ground and cover with a mulch or should I pot it up and put it in the greenhouse. I have already taken some cuttings just in case I do end up losing it. I'm in Southern Ireland and live about a 5 minute walk from the beach, we do get some bad winds in winter but we are quiet closed in, Any advice would be appreciated, thank you.
Thank you for the advice Verdun, I will give that ago, I didn't really want to lose it like the next door neighbours have, It's such a lovely plant, Hopefully my cuttings will do well so I will have a few in the garden. Thanks again Verdun for the advice.
Thanks Bob, you look like you've been busy too, I took my photo with my iphone5, hey I've grown Radishes for the first time and pulled my first one up today...........
Thanks Verdun I took cuttings from my salvia patens about 3 weeks ago and they've all rooted just thought it might be getting a bit late, might go and look for an Amistad today now
Well caught Bob
Is that a gazania flumpy?, something I've never grown, lovely colour

Saw a huge hoverfly on the ivy flowers today - it was about 2cm long and at first glance thought it was a hornet of some kind:
Volucella zonaria, the hornet mimic hoverfly.
Autumn and still flowering
