Quite a few years ago I made a bird table and decided to grow ivy up it,,,,well, although I've kept it trimmed, it's (shall we say) evolved, until now the feeding platform is fully concealed and doesn't actually function anymore as a bird table.
Alas, this year a couple of blackbirds have paid me the honour of adopting it as a nesting place.
I tried to take some meaningful pics for you, but their arrivals & departures are so rapid, the above is as well as I could manage.
Edd, clinical the area with pots is very young, I'm still waiting for things to grow
The last pic is the most mature part of the garden, the tree is Eucalyptus pauciflora, airy canopy, kind habit, and the most exquisite peeling bark (especially when it rains)
The Clematis Montana isn't looking it's best after we had to cut it hard back last year to re-do the chicken wire it's growing up but a good prune should set it up to romp away this year right?
Things are growing fast now, Stipa is about to produce its seed heads, Geranium 'Brookside' has started to flower. White foxgloves are starting to get ready to produce flower spikes. Allium Christophii and Luzula nivea are blooming, and Geranium phaeum 'Samobor' is still just about in flower.

Loving the blackbird nest David K. Bet you have hours of entertainment watching them come and go - hope you get lots of fledglings. Like the acers in the background too
Wintersong and WilldB - both your gardens are looking great. Alliums look stunning against the gravel Winter, and love that geranium phaeum with the white frothy thing Will (technical horticultural description there).
