Gorgeous Lyn.  Vanilla Fraise is stunningimage.  All the pics on here put me to shame but make me more determined to try harder next year,  I did have a discovery though - a little clematis (under £2 at Aldi) has taken off after being planted by the acer 2 years ago.

    The Japanese anemones.

    The white is Honorine Jobert

    Dark pink Is Bressingham Glow

    pale pink is Seranade

Big group are the old bog standard rampant ones, that are very well behaved here though.

the Scabious, I am not sure what they are called, I still have some seeds though, from last years flowers, or I could save some from those for you.

yours looks gorgeous Lesley especially the colour of the clematis with the acer, lovely image

this is pic of new border I started yesterday for bargains I got the weekend.  The pot far right is a vanilla frise too, a fiver reduced from thirty five! Hoping it may be a little bit as lovely as Lyns next year! Fingers crossed!

Hosta, they probably won't flower next year, what are plants called that take two years to flower, Bi annual is it?

I would think at that size they would be safe and better planted out. Those of mine are now about five ft tall, planted out last Autumn, but I lost quite a few in the winter. They will be about 8/10' next year with the blooms. Just put lots in, then if you lose a few it won't matter, and if you have too many you can pull them out.

When they self seed, leave them in, they seem to be tougher growing like that.
