my heart yearns for that clematis montana and winter's verbascums.

gardening is always-well, almost always-a delight, but this year is just pretty. i want climate change to stop right now so the weather will always be like this.

thank you, susan. one of the 23 things i'm doing parts of today is planting dahlias. i did tubers, cuttings and seeds this year-madness- and am running out of plausible places for them.

    Wintersong really beautiful.

Daids10 stunning peony, so many blooms wish mine was like that.

Katherine W, I have pink, purple and white foxgloves ranging in height from 3 feet to 6 feet, but have never planted any or sown seeds , so there freebies from somewhereimage

Dahlias have now taking over the veg patch, to be used for cut flowers, for family and friends so much easier than veg.

When I said "What a lot of gorgeousness!" I put that first, meaning everyone else's photos, but it's put it last!

Ok, time for some "before and afters".  We had a messy bit outside our front door that OH decided to tackle.  He cleared it, built a stone wall, filled it with several tonnes of muck and topsoil, and I filled it with plantsimage.  Here it is one year on:

lizzie and chicky gorgeousness indeed. lizzie your combinations so beautiful and so beautifully grown-ah, the vista, the vistas. is that dictamnus?

cecile brunner is supposed to be blooming with that clematis, but while happy as a hog and growing like blazes, refuses to co-operate.

it's always surprising how close mowing the lawn changes the feel of that part of the garden.
