Gorgeous gardens chicky and flowers in the rain. Chicky, what is the small almost floating purple flower in front of the Hydrangea, please and then in the last photo, what is the star shaped purple flower?
Ditto Julie gorgeous pics Chicky and flowers in the rain I love double clicking on them and then it's like having a real walk around your beautiful gardens
i also would like to know the names of same ones as Julie asks and also Chicky the one in your last pic, thank you
the floating flower is a thalictrum - hewitts double, and the last pic is anenome wild swan, taken from behind (which I think is her best side). And the star shaped purple flower in the 2nd to last pic is isotoma (sometimes called laurentia) .....its an annual, but flowers its socks off all summer with no deadheading required - I love it
The Hewitt double isn't staked Beau - but there are three planted quite densely and they are in amongst some quite beefy phlox, so I think they get all the support they need from their neighbours. If one was planted on its own it might need some help.

I remember everyone raving about the swan one last year
and I know why now!
the Hewitt double one, does that need staking?
