Interesting, I was looking at this Clematis the other day and the label quoted red but your pics look anything but...what is the real life colour please, David?
winter the color is a red purple rather than blue purple but the emphasis on the purple. the midrib in some lights is reddish tinged but the pic color is pretty close. huge hosta.
Tulips are "Coleur Cardinal" which have been superb both in the pots and along the edge of the track. "Francoise" which was earlier than I expected so is past its best now but has also been excellent; and good old "queen of the night" which were a free gift and thrown into the pots as an afterthought, they look superb though and will definitely be planted with a good contrast next year. The Aliums still have some time to go compared to some pics on here (and I forgot to underplant them) so I'm hoping they flower before the horses get to them (I don't think they like the smell of onions - phew)
Juts opening now on the lane though is this beautiful narcissus "Pheasants Eye".. I'm going to bulk up on this later this year. It extends the season as its so late and is divine and smells gorgeous.
I'm jealous of the gardens in this thread! We rent, so there's a limit to the amount of landscaping we are willing to do. I did build a sort of raised bed against our patio, using bricks from next door's skip though. This is the patio with bits of lavender, Stipa, with Allium christophii. Persicaria 'Fat Domino' in the corner at the back, and Rudbeckia 'Little Goldstar' are leafing out now. Last year's cuttings of Cuphea cyanea and recently planted Geranium 'Brookside' are in there too.
"What is hateful to you, do not do to your neighbour".
In the dry shady bit, Luzula nivea (2 9l pots divided into 4 plants) and Geranium phaeum 'Samobor' (2 2l pots split into about 6 specimens) with seed raised foxgloves from last year.

Hi WildB, your gardens looking nice! I'm in rented accommodation too but have been here 15 years so the way I see it is it may be someone else's house but its my home! Landlord was so impressed when I got the gardening bug that he helped clear the rubbish!
I also use unwanted bricks etc, hence the womble name! Made a path from old bricks and storage heater blocks, very effective!

Hello, I am a new member here. I am going to post some photographs of my garden.
It is a mobile garden, it moves to where my mood takes me when I am putting it together.
This is last years garden. I have a new garden for this year.
I am doing one photo at a time so I can fathom out how to post more photos altogether.
Frances.
