Joybell, do you  feed your contorted hazel with a particular feed as it seems to be in a large containrer/pot. Is there anything you would recommend for my 3 yr old hazel to help mine ?

Sunflower Lady, bought new hellebores this year after having them dying off in the past, but like you have found inspiration from these pages and their posters.  I now have lovey cream blooms in my front garden.

SL is OL? Good to see you. Still trying.g to get into hellebores but they do look nice in your pics. How do you make room for summer flowers in their place? What goes well in the same bed? X

You will always be OL to me .....I'm a creature of habitimage

mrsG - I don't grow anything else in my hellebore patch .....but it is not very big.  The leaves look pretty good for most of the year - only get cut down in Dec/Jan, and then the flowers are not far behind.  Maybe you can find them a spot under one of your new trees??

You are OL to me too, but really you are your Christian name that you used in the beginning to me. Lovely hellebores, wish mine flowered as well and I wish they sold deep pink ones here. They are so expensive here, often 16€ a plant, £12 -£13, and that can just be white ones.

Dordogne and Norfolk. Clay in Dordogne, sandy in Norfolk.
  • Morning guysimage always admire helebores but like you BL thought them a bit expensive. Our local GH have a lovely selection I always take a look, their white ones are on offer at£5 per pot so I might at last start a small bed of them.image The ones I really like with purple leaves and pinkish green flowers are double the price plus, hoping that they might go on offer when the flowers fade.image I have lots of fun treating plants in the raised hospital bed.
