Joybell, Might I ask which Hostas you have there?

    They're magnificent.

    Devon.

Hostafan1. I forgot to put the names on the plants, I normally do.

The variegated green and white Hosta round the pond is named Patriot, this is planted in full sun and has tough leaves, slugs don't really bother with this one.

The second one is planted in a bowl named Gipsy Rose. I put slate or grit around them to try and keep slugs off, this year I'm trying to protect some plants in the garden with coffee grounds from the local restaurant, just to see what happens. More Hosta photos coming soon.

Oi everyone, as someone suggested, I'll (try to) post some pics of my garden, being new here... the garden is also new, we began planting it last spring, and since the budgt is tight-ish many plants were planted as small cuttings and hardly show through the weeds yet. image But I love my garden. It is about 2/3 of an acre (I think) and includes a small orchard, a kitchen garden, and the flower garden.  Hubby and I did everything by ourselves, including clearing the space for the garden in a piece of wild forest. We are completely surroundd by forest except on one side where our ponies have their pasture. The above is the weird gateway to the Kitchen garden.

Here is part of the garden proper... most of the shrubs and flowers are still very very tiny... but it will be gorgeous in 2 years image

Pergola, made from poles cut in our forest... soon (I hope) to be covered in grape vines climbing roses, jasmines etc. The tiny hedge at the side should become a 4 seasons blooming fragrant hedge, given time.

Path to my little home made greenhouse... should be a grass path in time, but I haven't sown it properly yet because there's still two big tree stumps to dig out of it!
