CharlieBot  I grew statice last year they were simple to grow, I sowed in a tray then pricked out then when big enough planted in a grow bag, but I did sow them too late so only got a flower or two,  some plants have survived the winter in the grow bag so hopping they will flower this year

My frozen Larkspur germinated but took about a month, they do not seem very strong and a couple of seedlings have died. I put them outside for first time today but not sure. I have some others I have just left in a tray outside and nothing happening at all.

I have noticed that a lot of nurseries have plugs unavailable this year as well

    Hi peeps

Matty, your pics are great, you seem to be going great guns with your plants!

Holliehock, thanks for the feedback, I will look for some statice seeds and give them a go.

My cosmos are really doing well, I have sown just a few red sunflower which have germinated and looking good. Asters have just started to appear but nothing in the trays from rudebekia, phlox or delphiniums. ????????.  Have planted gladioli and dahlias for the first time!   Exciting times!

Hello all, I'm a bit of a latecomer to this thread, seem to have missed it. And my friend Matty is here! I suppose in Feb/march I was too busy having bronchitis and I hadn't yet decided to have a cut flower bed. But I decided to do one in the veggie garden and sowed cornflowers, clarkia, larkspurs, calendula and lavatera Silver Cup directly into it. Oh and French seeds called Balsamine that I don't know. I have Cosmos, Ageratum Blue Mink and Zinnias in the GH which I will plant mid May.

When we left France last Thursday to spend a week in England (family visit) they had just germinated so I hope the house sitter is looking after them.

Dordogne and Norfolk. Clay in Dordogne, sandy in Norfolk.
