so far I have sown 3 varieties of Cosmos - Purity, Dazzler and Rubenza, Cerinthe, Helianthus Vanilla Ice and Claret, Nicotiana Lime Green, Euphorbia Oblongata and potted up about 20 Dahlias, all for the cutting garden.  Freesias are on order. Glads and lilies still to plant, and lots more packets of seeds to sow, but have to wait until next weekend as my full-time job gets right in the way.  I don't have time to go to work at this time of year!

Yes garden girl, mine were mixed too but only 14 in a packet. I bet you'll have an amazing display with 50. Can't wait to see how you get on.

i agree Ashdale. Full-time work and gardening is a tricky mix! Just been out in the greenhouse to see what's sprouted. I'll be back in there tonight!

Well done, Tootles.  It's lovely to be up and in the garden bright and early.  What a joy.  I have an hour's drive to work and back so usually dark when I get home.  But its getting light around 6am now in Suffolk so able to inspect and water before I start the commute (7.30 usually!).

I'm with you Ashdale and Tootles ....work gets in the wayimage.  But its now light enough for early gh forays, and only a couple of weeks before lighter evenings tooimage.  Note to self....i must start my Cosmos seeds off soonimage

Yes can't wait for the lighter evenings, Chicky.  I showed my Cosmos seeds on Sarurday, popped them in the heated propagator and they're germinating already!  anyway, at work now, so must get on.image

Ashdale you have got me worried.  I planted my cosmos last Thursday in the propagator and not a glimmer yet.  Everything else I have sown has come up within two or three days. They were seeds I saved from last year so just in case nothing happens with them I've just been out and bought a packet of seedsimage. I'll probably end up with far more than I need now.

I've just bought my 2nd lot of Larkspur seeds, first lot seem to be doing nothing - internet check and found they will not germinate if temp above 65* - where they were on window ledge was right in the sun so...

Now put 1st lot in cool house and will sow 2nd lot and follow internet instructions

Hope other novice cutting gardeners find this useful
