Bishops Children have germinated and are now potted on and in GH.

1 lot of cosmos are pricked out, and the Ammi and panicum were pricked out today

Charlie check out Panicum elegans it is a grass used in flower arranging and - so I have found - really east to germinate, also Dill for wedding flowers/foliage has been suggested.

Is your greenhouse heated? I'm going to need to get my young dahlias out of the house soon.

Oh thanks I'll have a look at those. Got ammi majus in the propagator and gypsophila bare roots shooting in the gh. They were from poundland, 3 in a pack!

I am trying freesias mix this year says not to plant till April so they are in a cool room got them from Sarah Raven like well drained soil and sunny area or part sun if not

Matty2 I have spotted that grass Sarah Raven uses it in cut flowers looks good worth a go

all you lot sound like you have a good range of flowers to grow

I'm going to dig out the gravel bed we have under the bay window to create a flower bed. Want to try nigella, cornflowers, poppies, and have bought a mystery packet of T&M seeds from the garden centre. Garden faces south , so am hoping they'll all grow well.

    Hi

No GH is unheated but I bought one of those plastic grow houses and put it up inside - A GH inside a GH - seems to work OK. Have a heated propagator and sunny windowsills

That panicum was surprisingly easy - just on a window sill, no extra heat.

Think I'll look for some gypsophilia as well - need something frothy!

Sounds good Snowy especially the mystery pack, and facing south - great

Matty2 I have sowed grasses and they are doing well called cyperus papyrus grass

I am going to try Ammi seeds but direct sowing, I have a grow bag with a good lot of wild flower seeds that I sowed in autumn lots of poppies I see in it

Someone told me that Ammi seedlings are gourmet food for slugs. That's why I'm not direct sowing.

Wish I'd been into gardening and grown my wedding flowers...though it was 21 St dec so bit short of options! Also been reading about tuberose and have come across it in perfumery, anyone tried that?
