Quite a productive day - wish I had more to do though - don't think I've got enough for the whole weekend - might have to tidy the sheds
Sowed the last of my seeds this morning, cosmos, sweet sultan, amberboa and sunflowers. Lobelia plugs and some small geum plants turned up too so had some fun potting them on. Also potted on some of the Jan sown plants which are hardened off now, sweetpeas, achillea and scabious.
Watched a queen bee exploring the mouse holes under the bird table for a while and was surprised when I looked up and found a house mouse sat on the bird table a few inches from my face Funny though
At last some sunshine! Still needed a fleece though, so not that warm. Repotted my Camelia Crimson King (although it's actually deep pink!). Cut the tops off more heucheras and potted these up, along with some Carex Evergold, and geranium Johnson's Blue. Not sure what I'm going to do with them all but I find it hard to throw away anything with roots.
Dug up a nepeta and moved it near a cherry tree. Noticed that the amelanchier has leafbuds on it, as does the pear tree, and the kerria japonica is blooming. Found a cowslip has survived in a rough grass bank and is also in bloom, which it wasn't yesterday. Roll on tomorrow and hopefully more sunshine.
Was lovely and sunny today so when lunch guests left I went and edged the end bed, but needed widening as OH has trouble getting the tractor mower round the corner. So took up a couple of feet of lawn. Soil was horrible pale clay. Dug in barrow load of manure and a sack of compost. Then had to move the Tiarellas as they were no longer edging the corner of the bed. Now I have a nice gap for another plant, probably a Geum Borisii which is in the cold frame.
Dordogne and Norfolk. Clay in Dordogne, sandy in Norfolk.
I record gw so I can f w to Nigel the retriever because we have 3 retrievers. Hav'nt done any gardening today, I will tomorrow sow some beetroot plant some kale. Dig up some more lawn.

Did a quick bit of weedin whilst the sun was up and the kids were having breakfast.
did a bit of weeding with a very padded kneeler, but still had to give up. OH started painting the house so I ended up in the polytunnels.
Courgettes and sweetcorn sown on Monday have germinated.
