Warmer again today with 17 degrees promised for the afternoon. and no rain. I have started pulling out the forget me nots that have gone to seed and the seeds are flying everywhere so should have a fine show later in the year when they flower again. Next for the spreading treatment will be the quaking grass. These are the fun parts of a wild garden. Loads of foxgloves already showing for next year's flowers. A lot of them are congested so will thin them out and put the thinnings in the fernery. Aquilegias spread themselves without any help from me.
Warm today as 23 degrees promised by lunchtime from the weathermen so may have to do all the hard work in the morning today. We also have a yellow warning for heavy rain and thunderstorms for tomorrow so must put out all my old washing up bowls and buckets to collect rainwater which I tidied away to the back of the garage for my open day. Precious stuff rainwater. It is still cloudy at the moment so may get some good pics before the sun breaks through and it is too bright.
Oh such a delight up my garden this morning - lots of strawberries ripe so ice-cream and strawberries when it is hot this afternoon. My white hebes are beginning to flower and my Deutzia magica I bought last year is covered in its lovely pink blossom which is just opening. Butterflies everywhere and oh the lovely perfumes from my roses and peonies and philadephus and a few pinks now opening. Who cares that the pollen is very high and I sneezed myself all the way round and all over my camera too!
The sky is darkening and the wind is picking up so I expect the rain is on its way as predicted. Warm though. The tomatoes in the conservatory need attention. Some butterflies have taken up residence in there. I will have a run, well a jog up the garden to see all is secure before the storm.
Lovely. I see that Geranium a lot round here, Marion, which variety is it? (The blue one, not the pink x oxonanium one from the last set which I have tons of)....
Bring on the storm! My garden is thirsty!
