I put this pic of the drake in the lake at the Botanic Garden on a wildlife fb site and a friend appended the Duck poem from "

Yes flumpy the weather went downhill after Thursday.  It was polling day and the good weather brought out all the voters.

I had a £10 garden voucher in the post from AGMag. for a spring picture from my garden!  The weather cleared up and I worked till I could not do any more then took some pictures.  still a few late tulips and miniature daffs in pots but it will soon be quaking grass and aquilegia season which I love.

Hi flumpy.  There is a message for you in your messages (on your settings page).  I have very wet cheeks from crying.  And hoarse from singing all the old songs.  It was a splendid 70 VE day concert on BBC1, brought back all the memories I had of the war, especially when I was in the entertainment troop that went round cheering up the wounded soldiers every Sunday.  We all piled up into an old lorry with our equipment and I had to perform on the long table in the middle of the ward.  I kept waiting for a mention of Dig for Victory but that was missed out this time.

I have just seen the darkest brown fox I have ever seen in my garden.  Yesterday was a day of lots of orange-tipped butterflies as well as the loads of meadow browns i have this year so even the wildlife is colour coordinated this year.  It is much warmer this morning and dry though the sunshine is still hazy.  Perfect gardening weather.
