When I got to the Bot. Gadn a BBC film unit was filming in the Tropical House but they let me in to film the water hyacinths (first picture).  I had lovely chinwags with lots of my old colleagues and met the toddler son of one who is now a house dad and brought him to the garden today.  All in all just a delightful day and 48 lovely pictures to show you gradually.  i hope you will be just as impressed as I was.  I picked up my tickets for Monty Don's talk on July 19th too.  Looks like the pics will have to wait as there is a fault at the moment.

No way. flumpy.  i had to plead with the team to let me photograph the water hyacinths and they said it was alright as they had not started to shoot yet!  Just tried and the site is not accepting pics yet.

Hooray, the pics can go on now.  It is still drizzling outside so shall do it now and resist the temptation to go out in my raincoat and wellies.

More pics from outdoors in the Univ. of Bristol Botanic Garden taken 07.05.15.  I will take you into the greenhouses later.  The first picture in the last post was the water hyacinths courtesy of the BBC film crew so a big TY to them. From the Nandino domestica we are in the Chinese Herbal Garden.  Rosa chinensis always first to flower.

Rosa chinensis has jumped to bottom.  From giant fennel we are in the Mediterranean Bank.
